Mason is particularly interested in how philosophy mind and science interact with contemporary research in the cognitive sciences. His undergraduate honours thesis was on the nature of attention, but he is also interested in perception, cognition, introspection, special science explanation, and myriad epistemic and metaphysical topics in the neighbourhood.

During a year away from academia, Mason worked as a therapeutic companion for a four-year-old named Brayden. In his free time, Mason enjoys ravenously consuming an array of pop culture (despite the occasional indigestion) and training jiu-jitsu.
