Ian Hacking wins Holberg Prize
We are very pleased to announce that Ian Hacking has been named as the winner of the 2009 Holberg Memorial Prize. This prize, established by the Norwegian government in 2003, is awarded annually for outstanding scholarly work in the fields of the arts and humanities, social sciences, law, and theology. The Holberg Prize is perhaps the highest international honour for scholars in these fields; the prize amount is NOK 4.5 million (Appr. EUR500,000/ USD670,500). The previous winners are Julia Kristeva, Jurgen Habermas, Shmuel Eisenstadt, Ronald Dworkin, and Fredric Jameson.
