Prof. Arthur Ripstein named Chair of Philosophy - Graduate and Undergraduate

Meric S. Gertler, Dean, Faculty of Arts & Science has made the following announcement: 

"I am pleased to announce that the Agenda Committee of Academic Board has approved the appointment of Professor Arthur Ripstein as Chair of the Department of Philosophy for a three-year term, effective July 1, 2011 and ending June 30, 2014.

I thank Professor Donald Ainslie for his years of dedication, leadership and service to the Department and the Faculty of Arts and Science. I wish him the very best in his new role as Principal of University College.

I thank the members of the Chair Search Committee for their time and careful deliberations."

Brian Corman, Dean of Graduate Studies and Vice-Provost, Graduate Education announced that Professor Arthur Ripstein will also be serving as Graduate Chair of Philosophy, effective July 1, 2011 and ending June 30, 2014.
