Connor is primarily interested in classical German philosophy (Kant, German Idealism, German Romanticism), its historical antecedents (especially Platonism, Aristotle, and early modern rationalism), and its aftermath (especially phenomenology, hermeneutics, and early analytic philosophy). Topics of interest include theoretical and practical rationality; self-consciousness; the methodology of metaphysics; the relationship between language, thought, and the world; action and intention; organic life; philosophical anthropology; and philosophical reflection on art, culture, history, and religion.
