Gautam is pursuing his master’s degree in the department. His historical research interests include ancient Greek and South Asian philosophy (especially Aristotle and Madhyamaka Buddhism), 17th-century philosophy (particularly Hobbes and Spinoza), and 19th-century philosophy (German Idealism and its critics). In contemporary philosophy, he is interested in the philosophy of cognitive science (particularly embodied cognition) and democratic theory.
