
For its 2024 prizes, the American Philosophical Association (APA) selected Jennifer Nagel to deliver the 2026 Patrick Romanell Lecture, which is presented annually at a divisional meeting of the APA on the topic of philosophical naturalism. The APA publishes the Romanell Lecture each year in the Proceedings and Addresses of the American Philosophical Association.
Nagel, who the served as president of the American Philosophical Association Central Division in 2018-19 and as the president of the Canadian Philosophical Association in 2021-22, has delivered a number of renowned, named lectures in the past few years: In 2019 she gave the Frege Lectures at the University of Tartu, followed by the Ryle Lectures at Trent University in 2022, and the John Locke Lectures at the University of Oxford in 2023.
