Jack Beaulieu, a graduate from the Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto and now a Fellow by Examination (Junior Research Fellow) in Philosophy at Magdalen College, Oxford, works on the history of Sanskrit philosophy, focusing on philosophers belonging to the Nyāya and Prābhākara traditions. Dr. Beaulieu works broadly in the fields of epistemology, philosophy of mind, and metaphysics, with his research to date focusing primarily on absence.
Amy Schmitter is a professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Alberta with research interests include the history of early modern philosophy, the philosophy of art, the history of metaphysics and philosophy of mind, the history of theories of emotions, and feminist approaches to the history of philosophy
Kara Richardson, an associate professor of Philosophy at Syracuse University, works primarily in the history of philosophy. She focuses on medieval Aristotelians, especially Avicenna, Aquinas, and Suarez, as well as on Descartes.
Pauline Kleingeld is a professor of Philosophy at the University of Groningen. Her academic interests lie in Kant and Kantian philosophy, as well as in ethics and political philosophy.
Harvey Lederman is professor and Jonathan Edwards Bicentennial Preceptor at Princeton University, with broad interests in contemporary philosophy and the history of philosophy.
Robert Pasnau, a professor of Philosophy at the University of Colorado Boulder, has main interests in the history of philosophy, especially the end of the Middle Ages and the beginnings of the modern era. His colloquium talk will focus on the Hume’s philosophy.
Anke Graneß, of the University of Vienna, will introduce some research areas and first results of investigations into a global, non-European-focused, history and present of philosophy.

Prof. Hickson’s recent research has focused on the history of 17-century philosophy, especially Descartes, Bayle, skepticism, and the problem of evil. Increasingly, his research includes both historical and contemporary issues related to conscience and toleration.

Prof. Fleischaker’s research is primarily in moral and political philosophy, the history of philosophy, the philosophy of religion, and aesthetics. His talk is titled “Empathy and Perspective: A Smithian Conception of Humanity.”
