Scott Metzger is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Philosophy, working with Cheryl Misak. His work primarily concerns Charles Peirce’s theory of signs and meaning. He focuses on the connections between Peirce’s theory of signs and logical inference, as well as his theory of continuity and his critique of nominalism. Currently, Scott is working on connections between Peirce’s theory of signs and early analytic philosophy by emphasizing his first generation of supporters (Victoria Welby, Charles Ogden, Charles Morris, and Margaret MacDonald).

Outside of philosophy, Scott enjoys cooking and rock climbing!
