Jaihun is a master’s student in the Department of Philosophy. He completed his undergraduate studies in Computer Science at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). Jaihun’s current research focuses on appraising Heidegger’s critique of “onto-theology” by examining how thinkers from the Medieval and classical Islamic traditions conceived the relation between the terms, “being” and “God” (viz., the relation between ontology and theology). His other interests include religious existentialists (e.g., Lev Shestov and Gabriel Marcel), as well as Muhammad Iqbal, Edith Stein and Kant.
Outside of philosophy, Jaihun loves exploring the city for the best places to eat and listening to music from Françoise Hardy.
