Within ancient philosophy Mark is primarily interested in Plato and the Stoics, particularly in their views on productive knowledge and how their views relate to their ethical theories. Within aesthetics, Mark is interested in the philosophy of literature and the philosophy of music. He also maintains a healthy side interest in the history of aesthetics and in the history of British moral sentimentalism.
