Biography:

Rachel is a PhD student in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto. Her primary research area is applied ethics, with interests in aesthetics, social epistemology, and cognitive science. Her research background is in climate and environmental ethics. She is currently working on topics in philosophy of artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on approaches to thinking about value in conversational agents. Outside of philosophy, she enjoys illustration, poetry, and turning over rocks to find cool bugs underneath.
