- BA, University of British Columbia
At UBC, Elliot had the wonderful opportunity to take courses in the multi-disciplinary Cognitive-Systems Program, which involves faculty from philosophy, psychology, computer science and linguistics. This experience has left him with strong interests in both traditional philosophy of mind and more empirically-oriented philosophy of cognitive science. In particular, Elliot is interested in consciousness, theories of mental representation and perception – especially audition. Other areas of philosophy that interest Elliot include philosophy of language, metaethics, political philosophy and moral psychology. Before coming to UBC, he spent many years playing in a touring band, and I still enjoy playing music in my spare time.
