Biography:

Jonny Cottrell received his PhD in Philosophy from NYU. He is a lecturer at the University of Edinburgh and a visiting assistant professor at the University of Toronto. He has previously taught at Wayne State University and NYU.

His research focuses on Early Modern philosophy. He also has strong interests in epistemology, philosophy of mind, and philosophy of psychology. He has published articles in The Philosophical ReviewErgo, and the Journal of the History of Philosophy, among other venues. At present, his two main projects are a monograph on David Hume’s philosophy; and a new edition of Hume’s Enquiry concerning Human Understanding, which is under contract with W. W. Norton.
