Biography:

Sooyoung is a PhD student in Philosophy, with a focus on Kant, German Idealism, and Philosophy of Science. More specifically, his current research interests are understanding the meaning of Kant’s philosophical project in the context of 18th-century German philosophy, his concept of nature (and natural purpose/purposiveness) throughout his philosophical development, the relation between the theoretical and practical in his philosophical system, the reception of Kantian philosophy by thinkers such as Reinhold, Fichte, and Hegel, as well as
how they transposed it, and implications of Kantian thoughts on space/time, noumena, organisms in current philosophy of physics and biology, and vice versa.
Outside of philosophy, he enjoys music, playing tennis, fashion, a healthy diet, travelling, and learning new languages.
