Workshop: Maṇḍana on Ritual Duties

In this weeklong workshop, we will read, translate, and discuss Maṇḍana’s Vidhiviveka (“Discernment about Commands”), chapters 12—14, with Elliot Stern (Philadelphia), Lawrence McCrea (Cornell), Andrew Ollett (Chicago), Parimal Patil (Harvard), Akane Saito (Austrian Academy of Sciences), Nilanjan Das (Toronto), and many others. For chapters 12 and 13, we will also read Vācaspati’s commentary (Nyāyakaṇikā).
