Developing Essential Skills through Philosophical Study

From a recent article in the Toronto Star:

“Executives in 20 recent employer surveys said they look to hire people with so-called “soft” or “essential skills” — communicating, problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork — “yet this is where they see students being deficient,” said Harvey Weingarten, president of Ontario’s higher education think-tank.”

PHLB99: Writing for Philosophy is an excellent course for developing precisely these skills. The course is taught by our internationally renowned faculty member, Prof. Jessica Wilson, and will be offered again in the Fall 2016 term.

As a friendly reminder, interested students are always welcome to visit Philosophy Hall and speak with our faculty and staff. There is designated student space for quiet study and a welcoming environment for curious minds. We hope to see you around!
