As part of the Landmark Project on King’s College Circle, a tree and paver have been installed to honour the memory of two respected and beloved department members—André Gombay (1943-2014) and Joseph Boyle (1942-2016). This public recognition at the centre of the University of Toronto’s St. George campus became possible through generous donations from the Philosophy community as well as department funds.
Those wanting to visit the memorial gingko tree and the accompanying paver will find them on the east side of King’s College Circle, close to the Gerstein Library, alongside trees and plaques installed in recognition of many other members of the U of T community. The department is proud to have supported this permanent tribute to two much-missed colleagues and friends.
