The Department of Philosophy of the University of Toronto is proud to announce that two faculty members have won prestigious Guggenheim Fellowships in 2017 – of the 173 fellowships awarded for the United States and Canada this year.
Cheryl Misak was awarded a fellowship in the Intellectual and Cultural History category, which will enable her to work on a book, Frank Ramsey: An Intellectual Biography, about the Cambridge philosopher, economist and mathematician who lived in the first decades of the 20th century.
Margaret Morrison was awarded a fellowship in the Philosophy category, which will enable her to continue her research in the area of econophysics – an interdisciplinary research field that applies theories and concepts from physics in order to study complex problems in finance and economics.
