What is language? How does it compare to music? Does language have an inner logical spine? How does human language compare to the communication systems of other animals?
Distinguished Visiting Professor Philippe Schlenker is NYU Global Distinguished Professor and Director of Research at the Institut Jean-Nicod in Paris, France. He will be visiting UTM on Wednesday for conversations with faculty and students.
He has published 89 journal articles and book chapters on topics ranging from monkey communication to the semantics of music.
