Congratulations to Prach Panchakunathorn, who has been awarded the Martha Lile Love Essay Prize for this past year. Here is a citation on the winning essay, judged by Karolina Hubner and Peter King:

This year the Martha Lile Love essay prize committee would like to recognize Prach Panchakunathorn, for his essay “The rigidity of empty singular terms: the ‘sense without referent’ view”. The paper discusses Kripke’s objection to Fregean semantics by distinguishing non-fictional empty terms from fictional empty terms. Amid a very
strong field of contenders, the paper distinguished itself for its innovativeness, sophistication, and clarity.

Many thanks to Peter and Karolina for judging the prize, and to the faculty who nominated a total of eight outstanding essays.
