Have 20 minutes? Then come join Cheryl Misak as she speaks to Nigel Warburton and David Edmonds on their philosophy podcast, Philosophy Bites. The episode, originally released on Saturday, May 30, 2020, has her talk about the subject of her recently published biography, Frank Ramsey, and his more widely known contemporary, Ludwig Wittgenstein. The two thinkers, who were friends and trusted colleagues, had rather distinct personal styles, which to some extent became reflected in their philosophies. Misak suggests that Ramsey influenced Wittgenstein’s move away from the Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus to the more pragmatic thinking of the Philosophical Investigations.

Philosophy Bites, an unsponsored podcast, invites renowned philosophers to speak on their areas of expertise in bite-sized chunks. For more on Misak’s biography of Ramsey, read Anthony Gottlieb’s review of Frank Ramsey: A Sheer Excess of Powers in the New Yorker.
